Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair
Accelerator Cable - Engine Compartment:
Accelerator And Cruise Control Cable Service At Throttle Body:
ACCELERATOR CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Left sound insulator.
2. Accelerator cable from accelerator pedal
3. Accelerator cable retainer.
4. Squeeze accelerator cable cover tangs and push cable through dash panel (bulkhead).
5. Cruise control servo bracket mount bolts.
6. Accelerator cable from Idle Speed Control (ISC) actuator bracket and throttle body lever.
INSTALL OF CONNECT
NOTICE: To prevent possible interference, flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) must not be routed within 50 mm (2 inch) of moving parts unless routing is positively controlled.
NOTICE: Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. Throttle should operate freely without bind between full closed and wide open throttle.
1. Accelerator cable at throttle body lever and ISC actuator bracket.
NOTE: Accelerator cable must be routed through groove in throttle body lever and seated securely.
2. Route accelerator cable under brake master cylinder and through dash.
3. Secure retainer at dash.
4. Secure cable at accelerator pedal.
5. Cruise control servo bracket mount bolts.
6. Left sound insulator.
