CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Replacement EBTCMs require programming of the EBTCM memory. Program the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) if a new EBTCM is installed in a vehicle. The programming is performed with the scan tool. When ABS Programming is performed with the scan tool, the engine type and the transmission type are coded into the EBTCM memory. The EBTCM requires the engine and transmission coding for Traction Control System (TCS) operation.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The coding has not been programmed into the EBTCM.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ A malfunction Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is stored.
^ The TO indicator lamp is horned on.
^ The TCS will be disabled.
^ The ABS remains functional.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The condition for the DTC is no longer present.
^ The scan tool Clear DTCs function is used.
^ 100 drive cycles have passed with no DTC(s) detected.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
In the most unfavorable circumstances, incorrect programming can lead to minor driveability problems.
