A Preliminary Information

IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables:
^ Perform A Diagnostic System Check - Body Rear End before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
- There are no DTCs set.
- The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
^ Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to:
- Body Rear End Description
- Fuel Filler Door Release Circuit Description
- Rear Compartment Lid Release Circuit Description
- Rear Sunshade Operation Rear Sunshade Circuit Description

VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION
^ Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect operation of the rear compartment lid release system, and/or operation of the rear window power sunshade, and/or operation of the fuel filler door release system. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Diagrams.
^ Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
^ Binding and/or sticking mechanical sunshade components can cause the actuator to use excessive current which may result in a failed circuit breaker and sunshade system failure.

INTERMITTENT
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagrams.

^ Fuel Filler Door Release Inoperative
^ Rear Compartment Lid Release Inoperative
^ Rear Sunshade Inoperative
^ TRUNK OPEN Message Always On (W/O B9Q)
^ TRUNK OPEN Message Inoperative (W/O B9Q)
