Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the hood.





Caution: Refer to Hood Hold Open Device Caution in Cautions and Notices.

2. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the hood strut clip.
3. Remove the clip from the upper ball stud.




4. Remove the hood strut mounting bracket bolts from the fender.
5. Remove the hood strut.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to the fender.
2. Install the hood strut to upper ball stud.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Secure with the hood strut clip.

Tighten the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).

4. Remove the hood support.
5. Lower the hood.
