B2478
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONThe underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the REVERSE relay coil. The BCM provides ground to the REVERSE relay in the control circuit. The BCM monitors the voltage in the control circuit of the REVERSE relay every 1000 ms.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
A short to battery positive voltage in the control circuit of the REVERSE relay will be tested when the following conditions are met:
^ The ignition is ON.
^ The REVERSE relay is energized.
^ DTC B1982, and B1983 are not present.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The DTC will set when the REVERSE relay is energized, and the BCM detects that the control circuit of the REVERSE relay is high for at least 2 seconds.
ACTIONS TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The BCM turns OFF the REVERSE relay output, until the fault is no longer present.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The DTC will clear when the BCM detects that the control circuit of the REVERSE relay is no longer high for at least 2 seconds.
