Console Replacement (D55)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement (Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement).
2. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors on the left inner side of the center console.
3. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Front Trim Plate Replacement (Console Front Trim Plate Replacement).
4. Remove the ashtray. Refer to Ashtray Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the driver information switch. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement Service and Repair
6. Remove the radio and A/C control assembly. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
7. Remove the 2 fasteners (2) retaining the console to the floor.
8. Remove the 4 fasteners (1) retaining the console to the instrument panel.
9. Disconnect the console air supply duct. Turn in order to release.
10. Release the tie band in order to remove.
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the console.
12. Disconnect the auto transmission park lock cable from the shift plate bracket.
13. Disconnect the auto transmission range selector lever cable from the shift plate bracket.
14. Disconnect the BTSI electrical connector.
Notice: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.
15. Pull the console rearward while lifting upward on the rear of the console.
16. Remove the console from the vehicle.
17. Transfer the components as necessary.
18. Remove the shift assembly from the console. Refer to Shift Control Replacement in Automatic Transmission-4T80-E.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shift assembly to the console. Refer to Shift Control Replacement in Automatic Transmission-4T80-E.
2. Install the console to the vehicle.
3. Position the 3 electrical connectors up through the left side of the center console to the original location.
4. Connect the electrical connectors to the console.
5. Connect the console blower air supply duct.
6. Tighten the tie strap in order to secure the air duct.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
7. Install the 4 fasteners (1) that retain the console to the IP.
Tighten the fasteners to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
8. Install the 2 rear storage compartment fasteners (2) that retain the console to the floor.
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
9. Connect the auto transmission park lock cable to the shift plate bracket.
10. Connect the auto transmission range selector lever cable to the shift plate bracket.
11. Connect the BTSI electrical connector.
12. Install the radio/heater and A/C control assembly. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
13. Install the driver information switch to the console. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement Service and Repair
14. Install the ashtray to the console. Refer to Ashtray Replacement (Service and Repair).
15. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Front Trim Plate Replacement (Console Front Trim Plate Replacement).
16. Install the storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement (Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement).
