Carpet Replacement - Front
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
2. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement) .
3. Remove the carpeted front floor mats.
4. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (D55) (Console Replacement (D55)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
5. Remove the sound insulators from under the instrument panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) or Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
6. Remove the front carpet.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Any carpet service repair or replacement should be the same thickness, size and location as the original installation in the vehicle or vehicle damage and personal injury could result.
Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result is personal injury and/or vehicle damage.
1. Position the front floor carpet into place under the front edge of the rear carpet.
2. Make sure the electrical connectors are carefully pulled through the openings at the center of the carpet.
3. Ensure all wrinkles are removed.
4. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (D55) (Console Replacement (D55)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
5. Install the sound insulators. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) or Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement) .
7. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
8. Install the carpeted front floor mats.
