Rear Shelf: Service and Repair



Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


Removal Procedure





1. Open the doors.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear (Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
3. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
4. Remove both rear upper quarter trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .
5. Remove the center high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
6. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the push in retainers (2).
7. Lift upward and outward in order to remove the rear shelf panel (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the rear seat shelf panel (1) to the rear cross car beam support.
2. Install new push in retainers (2) in order to secure the shelf panel.
3. Install the center high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
4. Install the rear upper quarter trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .
5. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
6. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear (Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
7. Close the doors.
