Handle Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid Interior Release

Removal Procedure






Important: The trunk release latch handle is serviced as one component part with the rear compartment lid latch release solenoid.


1. The trunk release handle is not serviced separately.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear) in order to access the lock actuator.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
4. Disconnect the lock release cable from the key cylinder.
5. Remove the fasteners securing the lock solenoid to the latch.
6. Remove the solenoid and release handle assembly.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the solenoid and release handle assembly to the latch.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners.

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Connect the lock release cable to the key cylinder.
4. Connect the electrical connectors.
5. Secure the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear) .
6. Close the rear compartment lid.
