Sealing Strip Replacement - Outer Belt

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Inner Belt (Sealing Strip Replacement - Inner Belt) .
3. Remove the outer mirror assembly. Refer to Motor Replacement - Power Mirror (Service and Repair) .




4. It may be necessary to remove the door glass to access the outer belt sealing strip fasteners (1). Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair)
Remove the five fasteners (1).
5. Slide the sealing strip rearward in order to disengage the "T" slots (3,4) at each end of the door belt.
6. Remove the outer sealing strip (2).



Installation Procedure

1. Install the outer sealing strip (2) to the door.

Important: The outer belt sealing strip "T" slots (3,4) must be fully engaged to each end of the door belt to obtain the maximum retention to the door.


2. Ensure the outer belt sealing strip "T" slots are engaged.
3. Push the sealing strip forward prior to installing the five fasteners (1).
Important: Ensure the front and rear clips on the sealing strip are fully engaged.








Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 1.5 N.m (14 lb in).

5. Reinstall the door glass if necessary. Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the outer mirror assembly. Refer to Motor Replacement - Power Mirror (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Inner Belt (Sealing Strip Replacement - Inner Belt) .
8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
