CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONThe switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a built in pan of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). There are no external circuits. The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the signal generated by this switch and assigns a digital message to it. The DDSA sends this message over the power door serial data line to the driver door module (DDM). The DDM then sends the message, via the power door serial data line, to the left rear door module (LRDM), and the right rear door module (RRDM). When the rear window lockout function is activated, the rear door modules will not allow the rear windows to be operated from the rear door window switches. The rear windows can still be operated from the rear window switches on the driver door.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The switch input is checked every 300 milliseconds regardless of source voltage.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
If the DDM receives the information that the switch has been grounded (closed) for more than 30 continuous seconds, it sets the DTC.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The DDM ignores inputs from the window lockout switch.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The DDM clears the current code when it no longer receives the message that the switch is closed.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A sticking switch can cause this DTC to set.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Steps 1-6:
The number below refers to the step number on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks the existing state of the window lockout switch on the driver door switch assembly by using the current state of the input parameter.
