Rear Brake Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution (Brake Dust Caution) .
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution (Brake Fluid Irritant Caution) .

Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice (Vehicle Damage Warnings) .


1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .




3. Disconnect the rear brake pipe fitting (1).
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.




4. Remove the front brake hose retainer clip (1).




5. Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).
6. Remove the brake hose fitting gaskets (2) from the brake hose (3).
Discard the brake hose fitting gaskets.
7. Remove the brake hose.



Installation Procedure





1. Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) with 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the brake hose assembly to the caliper.

Tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to 49 N.m (36 lb ft).





3. Install the rear brake hose retainer clip (1).




4. Connect the rear brake pipe fitting (1).

Tighten the fitting to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

5. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) (Service and Repair)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
