Oil Pan Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the power steering hose retainer from the A/C compressor bracket.




3. Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft.




4. Remove the engine mount lower nuts.

Important: Do NOT disconnect the A/C pipes and/or hoses.


5. Remove the A/C compressor bracket bolts and reposition aside. Refer to Compressor Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer from the engine right side.
8. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (Engine Support Fixture) .
9. Tighten the support fixture wing nuts in order to provide clearance for the oil pan.




10. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Removal (RWD) (Overhaul)Oil Pan Removal (AWD) (Overhaul) .
11. Perform the following steps as necessary:

1. Disassemble the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Disassemble (RWD) (Overhaul)Oil Pan Disassemble (AWD) (Overhaul)
2. Clean and inspect the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection (RWD) (Overhaul)Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection (AWD) (Overhaul) .




Installation Procedure

1. Assemble the oil pan as necessary. Refer to Oil Pan Assemble (RWD) (Overhaul)Oil Pan Assemble (AWD) (Overhaul) .




2. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Installation (RWD) (Overhaul)Oil Pan Installation (AWD) (Overhaul) .
3. Loosen the engine support fixture wing nuts in order to lower the engine and engage the engine mounts to the frame.
4. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (Engine Support Fixture) .
5. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer from the engine right side.
6. Fill the engine with new engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the A/C compressor bracket with the A/C compressor. Refer to Compressor Replacement (Service and Repair) .




8. Install the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Left Side (AWD) (Service and Repair)Engine Mount Replacement - Left Side (RWD) (Service and Repair) and Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (w/AWD) (Service and Repair)Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (w/RWD) (Service and Repair) .




9. Connect the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement) .
10. Install the power steering hose retainer to the A/C compressor bracket.
11. Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
