Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement



Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (RWD)

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution (Brake Dust Caution) .





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the front bumper fascia lower closeout panel. Refer to Front Bumper Lower Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Lower Fascia Replacement) .
4. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).




5. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire harness clips (1) from the vehicle frame.




6. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire harness clip (1) from the steering knuckle.




7. Thoroughly clean the wheel speed sensor mounting area of the steering knuckle of any dirt and debris.
8. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt (1).




9. Remove the wheel speed sensor (1) from the steering knuckle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the wheel speed sensor (1) to the steering knuckle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .





2. Install the wheel speed sensor bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





3. Install the wheel speed sensor wire harness clip (1) to the steering knuckle.




4. Install the wheel speed sensor wire harness clips (1) to the vehicle frame.




5. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
6. Install the front bumper fascia lower closeout panel. Refer to Front Bumper Lower Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Lower Fascia Replacement) .
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
