Folding Top Stowage Compartment Panel Adjustment - Rear
Important: Before performing any panel adjustment procedures, refer to Folding Top Manual Operation (Folding Top Manual Operation) .
Fore/Aft and Cross Car Adjustment Procedure
1. Place the folding top in the down position.
2. Open the rear compartment.
3. Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent body panels.
4. Loosen the compartment panel bolts (2) and the nuts (1).
5. Apply LOCTITE(TM) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
6. Adjust the panel as necessary.
* Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
* Tighten the nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
7. Close the rear compartment.
8. Verify that the compartment panel is aligned properly. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation (Folding Top Manual Operation) .
9. Repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.
10. Remove the protective covering.
11. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
12. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation (Power Folding Top Description and Operation) .
Up/Down Adjustment Procedure
1. Place the folding top in the down position.
2. Open the rear compartment.
3. Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent body panels.
4. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.
5. Turn the hydraulic pump bypass valve (1) counterclockwise until the valve stops.
6. Unlock the storage compartment panel by pulling both of the over-center links (1) down.
7. Loosen the bumper jam nuts (1) on the compartment panel.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
8. Adjust the bumpers as necessary.
Tighten the jam nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
9. Lock the storage compartment panel by pushing both of the over-center links (1) up.
10. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
11. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
12. Close the rear compartment.
13. Verify that the compartment panel is properly aligned. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation (Folding Top Manual Operation) .
14. Repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.
15. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
16. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation (Power Folding Top Description and Operation) .
