Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. From underneath the vehicle, pull down on the front cable (3) to relieve tension.
3. Disconnect the left and right rear cables from the equalizer (2), which is part of the front cable (3).
4. Remove the RH muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
5. Disconnect the rear park brake cables from the left and right park brake actuators.
6. Remove the rear park brake cable from the rear suspension mounting bracket.
7. Remove the rear park brake cable retainer nut.
8. Remove the rear park brake cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear parking brake cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the rear parking brake cable retainer nut.
3. Connect the rear park brake cable to the rear suspension mounting bracket.
4. Connect the rear park brake cables to the left and right park actuators.
5. Connect the left and right cables to the equalizer (2), which is part of the front cable (3).
6. Install the RH muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
7. Lower the vehicle.
