Windshield Frame Weatherstrip Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the driver and passenger doors.
2. Lower the folding top.
3. Remove the left and right window filler panel applique. Refer to Side Window Filler Panel Replacement (Side Window Filler Panel Replacement) .




4. Remove the windshield upper garnish molding (3). Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip (1) to the frame (2).
6. Remove the windshield weatherstrip (1) from the upper windshield frame retainer.
Use care when pulling upward to release the windshield weatherstrip from its retainer.




7. Remove the left and right upper corner screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip to the windshield frame.
Lift the upper corner flaps of the windshield weatherstrip to expose the screws.
8. Clean the surface of the windshield weatherstrip retainer of any old sealant material.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the left and right upper corner screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip to the windshield frame.

Tighten screw to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).





2. Install the windshield weatherstrip (1) to the upper windshield frame retainer.
Install the windshield weatherstrip screws along the inside edge of the windshield frame.

Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

3. Install the windshield upper garnish molding (3). Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the left and right window filler panel applique. Refer to Side Window Filler Panel Replacement (Side Window Filler Panel Replacement) .
5. Close the folding top.
6. Inspect the folding top for proper sealing to the windshield weatherstrip and the frame.
7. Close the driver and passenger doors.
