Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Right Side (V6)

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning (Protective Goggles and Glove Warning).

Warning: Refer to Exhaust Service Warning (Service Precautions).





1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (SFI) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Inlet Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield from the exhaust manifold.




5. Remove the lower exhaust manifold heat shield retainers (1), if necessary.
6. Remove the lower exhaust manifold heat shield (2), if necessary.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the lower exhaust manifold heat shield (2), if necessary.
2. Install the lower exhaust manifold heat shield retainers (1), if necessary.




3. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield to the exhaust manifold.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
5. Install the engine coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Inlet Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (SFI) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
