Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Drive Belt Replacement).
2. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Install a wrench on the accessory drive belt tensioner (3).
4. Rotate the wrench to release tension.
5. With the tension applied, remove the belt from the power steering pulley.
6. Remove the top bolt (1) from the accessory drive belt tensioner.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
8. Remove bottom bolt from the accessory drive belt tensioner damper.
9. Remove the tensioner.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Tighten the accessory drive belt tensioner bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Attach a wrench to the tensioner (3).
5. Rotate the wrench to release the tension and feed belt around the power steering pulley.
6. With the tension applied, complete the belt routing. Ensure the belt is properly seated in all pulleys.
7. Slowly return the tensioner back to its original position. This will apply tension to the drive belt.
8. Remove the wrench.
9. Install the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Drive Belt Replacement).
11. Start the engine and inspect for proper belt and accessory operation.
