Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement (LF1, LLT (RHD))

Removal Procedure




1. With the engine OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield and intake manifold insulator. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LP1, LY7) (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LLT) (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement).
3. Remove the power vacuum brake booster check valve and hose assembly (1) from the power vacuum brake booster.




4. Remove and discard the vacuum hose clamp (1).
5. Remove the vacuum hose (2) from the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.




6. Release the power vacuum brake booster hose quick connect (1) from the power vacuum brake booster auxiliary pump.
7. Remove the check valve from the power vacuum brake booster hose, if necessary.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the power vacuum brake booster hose quick connect (1) to the power vacuum brake booster auxiliary pump.




2. Position a new hose clamp (1) to the power vacuum brake booster hose.

Note: If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.

3. Install the vacuum hose (2) to the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.
4. Using a suitable tool, compress the clamp to secure the power vacuum brake booster hose to the vacuum port fitting.




5. Install the check valve to the power vacuum brake booster hose, if removed.

Note: If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.

6. Install the power vacuum brake booster check valve and hose assembly (1) to the power vacuum brake booster.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield and intake manifold insulator. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LP1, LY7) (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LLT) (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement).
