Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the generator and water pump drive belt. Refer to Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement (Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement).
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LF1) (Service and Repair)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LLT) (Service and Repair).
3. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise in order to release the drive belt tension.
4. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pulley.
5. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
6. Remove the drive belt from the accessory drive pulleys.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the drive belt to the crankshaft pulley, the idler pulley and the A/C compressor.
2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.
3. Install the drive belt to the power steering pulley.
4. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
Important: Ensure the drive belt is properly aligned and seated into the grooves of the accessory drive pulleys.


5. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LF1) (Service and Repair)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LLT) (Service and Repair).
6. Install the generator and water pump drive belt. Refer to Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement (Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement).
