Backup Lamp Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).
3. Remove the backup lamp switch wire harness from the bracket.
4. Using a 22 mm angle head open end wrench, or equivalent, remove the backup lamp switch (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Apply sealant to the threads of the backup lamp switch. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Fluid Type Specifications) for the recommended sealant material.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the backup lamp switch (2) and tighten the switch to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
3. Install the backup lamp switch wire harness to the bracket.
4. Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).
5. Lower the vehicle.
