Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LH2 With Side Post)

Removal Procedure

Note:
* Always use replacement cables that are of the same type, diameter and length of the cables that you are replacing.
* Always route the replacement cable the same way as the original cable.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LHD With Top Post) (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LHD With Top Post))Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Side Post) (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Side Post)).
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement).
3. Disconnect the instrument panel (I/P) harness electrical connector (1) from the battery current sensor.




4. Disconnect the cable retaining clip from the stud on the shock tower.
5. Remove the bolt securing the negative battery cable to the shock tower.




6. Disconnect the instrument panel harness connector from the negative battery cable.
7. Disconnect the cable retaining clips from the engine bracket.




8. Remove the bolt securing the negative battery cable to the engine block.
9. Remove the negative battery cable.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the negative battery cable to the engine.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the bolt securing the negative battery cable to the engine block and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




3. Connect the cable retaining clips to the engine bracket.
4. Connect the instrument panel harness connector to the negative battery cable.




5. Install the bolt securing the negative battery cable to the shock tower and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
6. Connect the cable retaining clip to the stud on the shock tower.




7. Connect the I/P harness electrical connector (1) to the battery current sensor.
8. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement).
9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LHD With Top Post) (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LHD With Top Post))Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Side Post) (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Side Post)).
