Secondary Air Injection Pump Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
2. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet hose quick connect fitting from the AIR pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
3. Open and slide down the pinch clamp attaching the AIR hose to the AIR pipe.
4. Separate the AIR hose from the AIR pipe.
5. Remove the retainers attaching the AIR hose to the engine cradle.
6. Remove the AIR hose from the vehicle.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) clip (5) from the AIR pipe bracket.
9. Pinch the constant tension clamp and remove the AIR pipe from the check valve.
10. Remove the AIR pipe nuts (2, 3).
11. Remove the AIR pipe.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the AIR pipe.
2. Connect the AIR pipe to the check valve.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the AIR pipe nuts (2, 3) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the HO2S clip (5) to the AIR pipe bracket.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
6. Install and position the AIR hose to the cradle.
7. Install the retainers attaching the AIR hose to the engine cradle.
8. Install the AIR hose to the AIR pipe.
9. Open and slide into position the pinch clamp attaching the AIR hose to the AIR pipe.
10. Connect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting to the AIR pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
11. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
