Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the cross vehicle brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement Service and Repair.

2. Remove the intake manifold insulator. Refer to Intake Manifold Insulator Replacement Intake Manifold Insulator Replacement.

3. Remove the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.





4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold.





5. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (1) from the camshaft cover.





6. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Service and Repair.

7. Disconnect the evaporative emission hose (1) from the EVAP solenoid.





8. Remove the fuel pipe shield fastener (1). Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement.

9. Disconnect electrical connector as necessary.





10. Remove the intake manifold fastener (1).

11. Remove the intake manifold (2).





12. Remove and discard the intake manifold gasket (1).

13. For the intake manifold cleaning and inspection. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (LF1, LFW or LFX) Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection.

14. For the intake manifold disassemble. Refer to Intake Manifold Disassemble (LF1, LFW or LFX) Intake Manifold Disassemble.

Installation Procedure

1. For the intake manifold assemble. Refer to Intake Manifold Assemble (LF1, LFW or LFX) Intake Manifold Assemble.





2. Install the NEW intake manifold gasket (1).





3. Install the intake manifold (2)

4. install the intake manifold fastener (1) and finger tight.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

5. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.

* First pass tighten the intake manifold to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

* Final pass tighten the intake manifold to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).





6. Install the fuel pump cover bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).





7. Connect the evaporative (EVAP) hose (1) to the intake manifold and EVAP solenoid.





8. Connect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube assembly (1) to the intake manifold and the camshaft cover.





9. Connect the brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold.

10. Install the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.

11. Install the intake manifold insulator. Refer to Intake Manifold Insulator Replacement Intake Manifold Insulator Replacement.

12. Install the cross vehicle brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement Service and Repair.
