Front Side Door Window Replacement (Impala)

Removal Procedure

1. Position the front door window in the full down position.
2. Remove the front door inner trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair
3. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair.
4. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Sealing Strip).
5. Remove the front door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Weatherstrip).




6. Remove the front door window to the front door window regulator bolts.




7. Remove the front door window from the outside of the front door.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the front door window between the inner and the outer door panels.
2. Point the lower front corner of the front door window down and pass through the belt opening.
3. Align the edges with the front door window weatherstrip channel.
4. Turn the front door window to a horizontal position and align the holes in the window with the holes in the regulator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Important: Install the forward front door window regulator bolt first.





5. Install the front door window to the front door window regulator bolts.

Tighten the front door window to regulator bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

6. Install the front door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Weatherstrip).

Important: Ensure that both sealing lips on the outer belt sealing strip are not rolled over and pointing downwards. If this condition is present the window will not raise properly.


7. Install the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Sealing Strip).
8. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair.
9. Install the front door inner trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair
