P0835
DTC P0835
Circuit Description
The clutch switch is a normally open switch with the clutch pedal released. The engine control module (ECM) detects an feed back voltage on the clutch switch circuit when the clutch switch is open. The ECM detects 0 volts on the clutch switch circuit when the clutch switch is closed as the clutch pedal depressed.
When the ECM detects the clutch pedal switch circuit is shorted to ground, DTC P0835 sets.
DTC Descriptor
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P0835 Clutch Pedal Switch Circuit High Voltage
Conditions for Setting the DTC
* Ignition voltage is between 11-16 volts.
* The ECM detects that the clutch pedal is released.
* Vehicle speed is between 3 km/h (2 mph) and 52 km/h (32 mph).
* The ECM detects no clutch switch transition.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* The ECM illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will not illuminate.
* The ECM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The ECM stores this information in the Failure Records buffers.
* The ECM stores DTC P0835 in ECM History.
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
* A scan tool can clear the MIL/DTC.
* The ECM clears the DTC from ECM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without an emission-related diagnostic fault occurring.
* Disconnect the ECM battery feed for more than 10 seconds.
