Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (6.2L)



Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (6.0L)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service Intervals) .
2. Remove the intermediate pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the oxygen sensors. Refer to the following:

* Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 1 (Service and Repair)
* Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 (Service and Repair)


Important: DO NOT reuse the gasket between the catalytic convertor and the exhaust manifold. Use new only.


4. Remove the mounting nuts (3) and gasket (1) from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the catalytic convertor (2) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the NEW exhaust gasket (1) on the catalytic convertor (2).
2. Position the catalytic convertor (2) on the exhaust manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the mounting nuts (3) for the catalytic convertor.

Tighten the mounting nuts (3) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

4. Install the oxygen sensors. Refer to the following:

* Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 1 (Service and Repair)
* Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 (Service and Repair)

5. Install the intermediate pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Lower the vehicle.
