Folding Top Cover Side Tension Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the weatherstrip and the retainer from the rear side rail. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement (Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement) and Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement (Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement) .




2. Raise the top cover flap and remove the screw (1) attaching tension cable to the rear side rail.




3. Position the top with the #1 bow and the #5 bow up.




4. Remove the headliner screws (1) from the #1 bow.




5. Remove the tension cable end from the #1 bow.




6. Attach approximately 5 feet of 16-gauge wire to aid in the installation.
7. From the rear of the top remove the tension cable, leaving the wire in the top pocket.
8. Disconnect the tension cable from the wire.



Installation Procedure





1. Pull the wire forward until the cable is in the proper position. Remove the wire.




2. Attach the tension cable end to the #1 bow.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

3. Install the headliner screws (1) to the #1 bow

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).





4. Install the tension cable screw to the rear side rail.

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Fold the top cover flap over the rear side rail.
6. Install the rear side weatherstrip retainer and the weatherstrip to the rear side rail. Refer to Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement (Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Replacement) and Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement (Folding Top Side Front Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement) .
