Battery Positive Cable Replacement (LZ7)
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.
3. Loosen the positive battery cable bolt at the junction block and remove the cable from the junction block.
4. Remove the positive battery cable clip from the battery tray.
5. Remove the tape holding the negative battery cable to the positive battery cable.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the positive battery cable nut from the starter solenoid.
8. Remove the positive battery cable from the starter solenoid.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the positive battery cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Route the positive cable to the starter and the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Install the positive cable to the starter solenoid.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
4. Install the positive cable nut to the starter solenoid stud and tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb in).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the positive cable to the junction block and tighten the positive cable bolt. Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
7. Install the positive cable clip (4) to the battery tray.
8. Install tape to secure the negative battery cable to the positive battery cable.
9. Install the positive cable to the positive terminal of the battery.
10. Tighten the positive cable bolt and tighten to 17 Nm (13 lb ft).
11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair).
