Coolant Heater Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LY7, LZE, LZ4) Cooling System Draining and FillingCooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716).
2. Disconnect the engine coolant heater cord (1) from the engine coolant heater.




3. Remove the engine coolant heater.
4. Clean the engine coolant heater opening.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply sealer to the threads of the engine coolant heater, if necessary. Refer toAdhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers [1][2]Fluid Type Specifications
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the engine coolant heater and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).




3. Connect the engine coolant heater cord (1) to the engine coolant heater.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LY7, LZE, LZ4) Cooling System Draining and FillingCooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716).
6. Inspect for leaks.
