Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Installation

EN-45059 - Torque Angle Sensor Kit

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Special Tools).

1. Lubricate the piston rings, piston, inner cylinder bore surface and a piston ring compressor with clean engine oil.
2. Install the piston ring compressor in order to compress the piston rings.




3. Install the piston and connecting rod assembly (4).
4. Install the connecting rod bearing (3).
5. Install the connecting rod cap (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

6. Install the connecting rod bolts (2) and tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb ft) + 45° use the EN-45059 - sensor kit.
7. Assemble the caps and connecting rods in the marked position.
8. Rotate the crankshaft to a position where the connecting rod bolts are in the best situation for install.
