Backup Lamp Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).

3. Remove the backup lamp switch wire harness from the bracket.

4. Using a Snap-On(TM)VSM5222 22 mm angle head open end wrench, or equivalent, remove the backup lamp switch (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Apply pipe sealant with Teflon(R) to the threads of the backup lamp switch. Use GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the backup lamp switch (2) and tighten the switch to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).

3. Install the backup lamp switch wire harness to the bracket.

4. Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).

5. Lower the vehicle.
