Differential Bearing Replacement (250 mm Axle)

Special Tools

* J 8107-4 - Side Bearing Remover Plug

* J 22888-D - Side Bearing Remover Kit

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the differential case. Refer to Differential Case Replacement (250 mm Axle) Differential Case Replacement (250 mm Axle)Differential Case Replacement (195/218 mm Axle) Differential Case Replacement (195/218 mm Axle).

2. Install the differential assembly in a soft jawed vise.

3. Using the J 22888-D - kit (2) and the J 8107-4 - plug (1), remove the side bearing.

4. Remove the differential case from the vise.

Installation Procedure





Note: Ensure that the bearing is positioned evenly on the differential case.

1. Position the new bearing (1) on the differential case.





Note:

* Use 2 blocks of wood to protect the differential case while performing the following procedure.

* Ensure that the new bearing (2) is fully seated.

2. Using the old bearing (1) and a hammer, install the new differential case bearing (2).
