Oil Tank Inlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (6.2L) Service and RepairEngine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (6.2L LS9 and 7.0L LS7) Service and Repair.

3. Remove the right front wheelhouse rear liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Rear Liner) Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Front Liner) .

4. Remove the oil inlet/outlet hose bracket bolt.





Note:
Anytime the oil tank inlet and outlet hoses are serviced, the oil seals must be replaced.

5. Remove the inlet hose to oil tank bolt (3) and disconnect the hose (2) from the oil tank. Discard the oil seal (1).





6. Remove the inlet hose to oil pan bolt (3) and disconnect the hose (2) from the oil pan. Discard the oil seal (1).

7. Remove the oil inlet hose.

Installation Procedure

Caution:
Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Debris Caution Engine Oil Cooler Debris Caution.

1. Position the oil inlet hose.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the oil inlet/outlet hose bracket bolt and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).





3. Using a new oil seal (1), install the oil inlet hose (2) and bolt (3) to the oil pan. Tighten the inlet hose to oil pan bolt to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).





4. Using a new oil seal (1), install the oil inlet hose (2) and bolt (3) to the oil tank. Tighten the inlet hose to oil tank bolt to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

5. Install the right front wheelhouse rear liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Rear Liner) Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Front Liner) .

6. Lower the vehicle.

7. Change the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (6.2L) Service and RepairEngine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (6.2L LS9 and 7.0L LS7) Service and Repair.
