Exhaust Muffler Replacement (Single)

Removal Procedure

Warning:
Refer to Exhaust Service Warning Service Precautions.


Warning:
Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning Protective Goggles and Glove Warning.


1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





2. Remove the exhaust front pipe nuts (2) and discard the exhaust gasket (3).





3. With the aid of a second technician, remove the exhaust muffler (2) from the exhaust isolator (1) and the rear hanger exhaust isolator (2).

4. Lower the exhaust muffler (2) to the floor.

Installation Procedure

1. For ease of installation, apply lubricant to the exhaust isolators.





2. With the help of a technician, install the exhaust muffler (3) into the rear hanger bracket isolators (2) and the exhaust isolator (1).





3. Install the exhaust muffler (4) to the exhaust front pipe with a NEW gasket (3).

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

4. Tighten the nuts (2) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Start the vehicle and check for exhaust leaks.
