Shift Cable: Adjustments

Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

1. Ensure the transmission is in the PARK position.





2. Release the shift control cable adjustment lock cover (3)

3. The shift control cable and cable end are free to slide to proper adjustment.

4. Ensure the transmission shift lever and transmission control assembly are in the PARK position.

5. Depress the shift control cable adjustment lock (3) to lock the adjustment.

6. Inspect the operation of the starting system with the shift lever in each position. The engine should only crank when the lever is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position.
