Folding Top Cylinder Hydraulic Hose Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Eye Protection Warning Eye Protection Warning.

Warning: Refer to Servicing Electrical Components Warning Servicing Electrical Components Warning.


1. Place all the windows in the full down position.

2. Remove the folding top frame. Refer to Folding Top Frame Replacement Procedures.

3. Remove the rear seat back and lower cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Coupe) Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Coupe)Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Convertible) Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Convertible).

4. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe) Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible).




5. Release the hydraulic cylinder hose (2) from the retainers (1) in the quarter panel bracket.

Note: Do not disconnect the hydraulic cylinder hoses from the cylinder.

6. Release the retaining clip from the top of the stud ball and clip and pin from the bottom of the hydraulic cylinder.

7. Remove the hydraulic cylinder from the bracket and reposition without disconnecting hydraulic lines. Refer to Folding Top Cylinder Replacement Service and Repair.




8. Remove the folding top hydraulic cylinder hose bracket bolts (1).




9. Remove the hydraulic cylinder hose bracket (1) from the quarter panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the hydraulic cylinder hose bracket (1) to the quarter panel.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the folding top hydraulic cylinder hose bracket bolts (1), tighten to 38 Nm (28 lb ft)

3. Connect the hydraulic cylinder. Refer to Folding Top Cylinder Replacement Service and Repair.

4. Install the pin and clip to bottom of the hydraulic cylinder bracket.

5. Install the top of the hydraulic cylinder to the stud ball.




6. Install the hydraulic cylinder hose (2) to the retainers (1) on the quarter panel bracket.

7. Install the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe) Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible).

8. Install the rear seat back and lower cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Coupe) Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Coupe)Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Convertible) Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Convertible).

9. Install the folding top assembly. Refer to Folding Top Frame Replacement Procedures.

10. Place the folding top in the lock position, check for appearance and fit.

11. Inspect the front edge of the folding top to windshield frame for a good seal.

12. Water test the vehicle to ensure a proper water tight seal.
