Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
When the driver selects the SPORT position on the suspension control switch, a ground signal is sent to the body control module (BCM). The BCM then sends a serial data signal to the ESC module requesting a firmer damper ride control rate for each damper allowing the driver to customize the ride and handling of the vehicle.

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, with the scan tool, observe the Ride Handling Sw. data parameter in the BCM Chassis data list while toggling the suspension control switch between the SPORT and TOURING positions. The parameter should change state.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the suspension control switch.
2. Test for less than 30 ohms between the switch harness connector ground terminal 12 and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test for an open/high resistance.
3. Ignition ON, momentarily connect a 5 A fused jumper between the switch harness connector signal circuit terminal 10 and ground while observing the Ride Handling Sw. data parameter in the BCM Chassis data list.
• If the parameter does not change between states, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
4. Test or replace the suspension control switch.
Component Testing
Suspension Control Switch
1. Place the suspension control switch in the TOUR position.
2. Test for less than 2 ohms between terminal 10 and terminal 12.
• If greater than the specified range, replace the suspension control switch.
3. Place the suspension control switch in the SPORT position.
4. Test for infinite resistance between terminal 10 and terminal 12.
• If less than the specified value, replace the suspension control switch.
