Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Hot Exhaust System Warning Hot Exhaust System Warning.
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.
1. Lower the frame enough to allow clearance to remove the front pipe. Refer to Frame Replacement .
2. Remove the front pipe exhaust fasteners (1) from the rear muffler pipe (3) and discard the exhaust gasket (2).
3. Remove the fasteners (1) from the rear catalytic converter and discard the gasket (2).
4. Remove the fasteners (1) from the front catalytic converter and discard the gasket (3).
5. Slide out the exhaust front pipe (2) and lower to the floor.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
1. Install the exhaust front pipe (2) to the front catalytic converter with a NEW gasket (3) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 43 Nm (32 lb ft).
2. Install the exhaust front pipe (2) to the rear catalytic converter with a NEW gasket (3) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 43 Nm (32 lb ft).
3. Install the exhaust front pipe to the rear muffler (3) with a NEW gasket (2). Tighten the fasteners (1) to 43 Nm (32 lb ft).
4. Raise the front frame. Refer to Frame Replacement .
5. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
