Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement (Column Shift)

Removal Procedure

1. Set the park brake and chock the wheels.

2. Remove the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement.





3. Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin (2).





4. Remove the cable interface retainer (1) from the shift cable.

5. Press the range selector lever cable retaining tabs (2) inward.

6. Remove the range selector lever cable from the steering column bracket (3).

7. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.





8. Disconnect the range selector lever cable (2) from the transmission selector lever (6).

9. Press the locking tabs (1) inward in order to release the range selector lever cable (2) from the cable bracket (3).





10. Disengage the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (3) from the cowl panel.

11. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the transmission range selector lever cable to the vehicle.





2. Install the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (3) to the cowl panel.





3. Connect the range selector lever cable (2) to the transmission selector lever (6).





4. Press the locking tabs (1) inward, then insert the range selector lever cable (2) into the cable bracket (3).

5. Install the range selector lever cable into the steering column bracket (3).

6. Install the cable interface retainer (1) into the range selector lever cable.





7. Connect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) to the transmission manual shift lever pin (2).

8. Install the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement.

9. Adjust the range selector lever cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment Adjustments.

10. Install the air cleaner assembly in the vehicle. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
