Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Cycle the folding top to its open position.
2. Stop the cycle before the folding top stowage compartment lid closes.
3. Place a protective cover over the adjacent body panels.




4. Using a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the extension panel hinges to the folding top stowage lid for realignment.
5. Remove the extension panel hydraulic cylinder. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Extension Panel Replacement (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Extension Panel Replacement) .
6. Lay the extension panel cylinders on the protective cover.




7. Remove the stowage compartment extension panel hinge fasteners.




8. Remove the stowage compartment extension panel from the vehicle.
9. If replacing the stowage compartment extension panel, perform the following:

1. Remove the extension panel weatherstrips. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Weatherstrip Replacement - Front/Rear (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Weatherstrip Replacement - Front/Rear) .
2. Remove the extension lid hinge. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Hinge (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Hinge) .




Installation Procedure

1. If replacing the stowage compartment extension panel, perform the following:

1. Install the extension panel weatherstrips. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Weatherstrip Replacement - Front/Rear (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Weatherstrip Replacement - Front/Rear) .
2. Install the extension lid hinge. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Hinge (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Extension Panel Hinge) .





2. Install the stowage compartment extension panel to the vehicle.




3. Install the stowage compartment extension panel fasteners. Hand tighten the fasteners.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Align the stowage compartment extension panel hinges to the alignment marks.

Tighten the stowage compartment extension panel fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

5. Install the extension panel hydraulic cylinder. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Extension Panel Replacement (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Extension Panel Replacement) .
6. Remove the protective covering from the vehicle.
7. Cycle the folding top and inspect for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation () .
8. Cycle the folding top to the closed position.
