Transmission Mount Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
3. Remove the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nut or nuts.
4. Raise the transmission to take the weight off of the mount.
5. Remove the transmission mount to the transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts (1) and discard the bolts.
6. Raise the transmission just enough to remove the transmission mount.
7. Remove the transmission mount from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the transmission mount to the vehicle.
Caution:
This component is equipped with torque-to-yield fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the NEW transmission mount to the transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts (1).
* For two wheel drive, tighten the bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb ft) plus 45-60 degrees. Must replace bolt when serviced.
* For four wheel drive, tighten the bolts to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus 40-50 degrees. Must replace bolt when serviced.
3. Lower the transmission.
4. Install the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nut or nuts. For two wheel drive and four wheel drive, tighten the nut or nuts to and tighten to 107 Nm (79 lb ft).
5. Remove the transmission jack.
6. Lower the vehicle.
