SYMPTOM
P-0711 TRANS TEMP SENSOR, NO TEMP RISE AFTER START

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with the key on and engine running.

SET CONDITION
Code will set if trans sump is < 40 deg F and does not rise > 16 deg F after 20 minutes of run time and vehicle speed above 30 MPH. Code also set if vehicle temp (verified using battery temp and engine coolant temp) is < 100 deg F and trans temp > 260 deg F.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Trans solenoid 8-way connector observable defect
- Trans temp sensor wrg and conn observable def
- Trans temp/governor pressure sensor defective
- Transmission temp sensor fault codes present
- Engine and transmission temp >= 85 degrees F
