SYMPTOM LIST
P-1493 BATTERY TEMP SENSOR VOLTS TOO LOW

TEST NOTE:
All symptoms listed above are diagnosed using the same tests. The title for the tests will be P-1492 BATTERY TEMP SENSOR VOLTS TOO HIGH.

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key on and the engine running over 1500 RPM after 25 seconds.

SET CONDITION
The PCM senses the voltage from the BTS to be either below 0.5 volts or above 4.9 volts for 3 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- BTS connector and harness intermittent defect
- BTS connector and harness observably def
- Battery temperature sensor defective (V < 1.0V)
- Battery temperature sensor defective (V > 4.0V)
- PCM def (BTS voltage too low/voltage too high)
- PCM defective (BTS voltage low)
- BTS ground circuit open
- BTS signal circuit open
- BTS signal circuit short to ground
- BTS signal circuit short to sensor ground
- BTS signal circuit shorted to voltage
