SYMPTOM
P0302 - CYLINDER # 2 MISFIRE

TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test P0300 - MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE

WHEN MONITORED
Engine running at idle, engine speed below 880 rpm auto or 860 rpm manual, coolant temperature above 140 °F, PTO inactive and VSS = 0 mph.

SET CONDITION
For misfiring cylinder, time for crank to turn 120 ° during firing interval of cylinder being tested compared to time for crank to turn 120 ° during firing interval of previous cylinder > 40 microseconds for manual transmission & > 240 ms for automatic transmission vehicles.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- DTC does not match freeze frame DTC
- DTC specific good trips does not change to 0
- Harness intermittent defect
- Mechanical problem present
- Tone wheel
- CKP sensor
- Other possible causes
