P1283 - IDLE SELECT SIGNAL INVALID

WHEN MONITORED
Key-On.

SET CONDITION
VP44 Fuel Pump Control Module detects erroneous Low Idle Select signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM).

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Low idle select circuit open
- Low idle select circuit shorted
- Low idle select circuit shorted to ground
- Low idle select circuit shorted to voltage
- Engine Control Module defective (circuit shorted to ground)
- Engine Control Module defective (voltage above 6.0 volts)
- Fuel injection pump
