RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST

For a complete wiring diagram REFER to DIAGRAMS/ELECTRICAL .


NOTE: If the ORC has been replaced, the ORC Initialization Procedure must be performed to clear the ORC Unlocked DTC and bring the module to a full state of readiness.

1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the Battery.

WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, turn the ignition on, then reconnect the battery

2. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
3. With the scan tool, erase stored DTCs in all airbag system modules.
4. Perform module reset.
5. Note: If equipped with an Airbag On - Off switch, read the DTC's in all switch positions.
6. Exercise the Restraints System to duplicate the appropriate monitor conditions for any DTCs that were set
7. Wait one minute, and read active codes, if there are none present, read the stored codes.
8. If the scan tool shows any active or stored codes, return to the Table of Contents and follow the path specified for that trouble code. If no active or stored codes are present, the repair is complete.
Are any DTC's present or, is the original condition still present?

Yes


- Diagnose and repair the DTC(s) or symptom that is still present.


No


- Repair is complete.
