Distribution Duct - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
FLOOR AND LOWER CEILING DUCTS
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right quarter trim panel Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the push-pin fasteners (3 and 5) that secure the lower ceiling duct (1) and rear floor duct (4) to the body.
4. Disconnect the lower ceiling duct from the rear heater-A/C housing (2). First slide the lower ceiling duct upward into the upper ceiling duct, then disconnect the ceiling duct from the rear heater-A/C housing. See UPPER CEILING DUCT for more information.
5. Disconnect the lower ceiling duct from the upper ceiling duct and remove the lower duct.
6. Disconnect the rear floor duct from the rear heater-A/C housing and remove the floor duct.
UPPER CEILING DUCT
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right quarter trim panel Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the right side curtain air bag Side Curtain Air Bag - Removal.
4. Remove the three push-pin fasteners (1) that secure the upper ceiling duct (2) to the body.
5. Disconnect the upper ceiling duct from the lower ceiling duct (3) and remove the upper duct.
