Procedures





INSPECTION






NOTE: Perform this procedure first before the regulator, carrier plate or switch is investigated for defects. Lubrication will not permanently resolve the issue and should not be used.

1. Remove the trim panel. Front Door Trim Panel - Removal
2. Remove the door speaker. Speaker - Removal




3. Remove the inner belt molding.





4. Install the window switch if required and lower the glass (2) down in the door to position the glass attachment clips (3) for access through the speaker opening (3) and the service access plug (1).
5. Separate the glass clips (4) from the regulator lift plates.
6. Raise the glass (2) into the full up position and secure in place using tape or equivalent.
7. Lower the regulator into the full down position.
8. Raise and lower the glass by hand.
9. If the glass is not moving smoothly without binding, verify that glass run seal is fully and correctly seated in the metal run channel, particularly below the beltline.
10. If not fully seated, apply hand pressure and/or use a trim stick to correctly seat it.
11. Raise and lower the glass by hand and recheck for binding. If the glass still doesn't move freely, the seal is defective and needs to be replaced.
12. Remove the glass and replace the seal. Front Door Glass - Removal
13. During new seal installation, make sure the new seal is fully seated especially below the beltline.
14. Install the glass. Front Door Glass - Installation
15. Install the door speaker. Speaker - Installation
16. Install the trim panel. Front Door Trim Panel - Installation
